Life after NTU

Yep.... I am out on the jobless market again. It has not been too much of a smooth sailing life for me over the past year. The job at NTU certainly is NOT a cushy one. I often had to wear multiple hats including hand holding people like a primary school teacher.

It was a good learning experience anyway. I was exposed to many new stuff over the year. And I finally could tick on Yes for "Have you ever had a surgery for heath checks".  I have gone thru a surgery in October while serving out my notice period; a procedure that I was supposed to be going thru in February but had got dragged out because of my work commitments in NTU.

Many thanks to Sandy & Andy and Fufumi my evil twin for visiting me at Gleneagles. :)

Letting emotions get the better of you at work?

I used to put my emotions into my work. That's what I believe, I work with passion. When things do not go smoothly I start to be unhappy. Often enough emotions got the better of me.

Now, I have learned to leave my emotions at home when I am at work. Someone one of my bosses asked: "You don't seem to care when I take work off you?" To be very frank I do! As a matter of fact, if I let my emotions get the better of me I'd have broken down and cry. Now, that is not going to look good or professional isn't it? Or maybe that ex boss of mine was looking forward to that?

It is already not a bed of roses having to manage my own emotions. Well, I do have to deal with emotional people from time to time. I had an emotional boss in one job, then I have to deal with an emotional peer when I moved on to another.

When will people start to learn NOT to bring their emotions to work????!! I'd rather spend time working out solutions than to be emo(tional) over things that I have to get done anyway by hook or by crook! I believe that nobody can make me feel the way I want to feel and yes that's most important... Maybe that's just me.....

Thots of the day

I'm on my way to the city and this thought just came up suddenly. I'm now jobless and is looking for employment, of the jobs I have gone through I came across a lot of people.

They came in all shapes and sizes, colors, genders and of course of different sexual orientation.

What am I driving at? It dawned on me that the peers I have who are low in their confidence level usually blame others for their predicament. They'd blame others for not respecting them and not communicating with them without realising that it was they themselves who have made the relationship worst!

But then how do we get this idea across to them to wake up and start reflecting instead of pushing the blame?

I choose to ignore and let things blow over. What about you?
