You are next!

Now I know the real reason why I don't like to attend weddings.

It's not exactly my favourite thing to do when it comes to attending weddings. Its not the wedding gift that I have to buy. It's the question that people always ask singles like me; "when will it be your turn to get married?" Or they tend to put it in this other way poking me in my ribs telling me "you are next!?" Or in chinese “什么时候我才能喝你的喜酒？" Is not being married or even not being engaged to be married a sin?

Called home today, haven been nice to call home this whole week as I am rushing my writing assingment. Mom told me that she has had problems contacting me as my fone broke down. Yakked on the fone for almost an hour, before mommy told me she got a joyious news to share with me... So she broke the news to me, my cousin KarLing is getting married in October this year, 2nd October to be exact - yeh I am expected to show face in Hong Kong at the dinner. So she wants me to be nice and give my cousin and aunty a call in Hong Kong. Did exactly what mom told me to do just to be nice. Yeh... Aunt YueMing asked me in cantonese "我几时先饮到你个餐“; direct translation: when will I get to drink your that meal? So I told my aunty directly, I haven got a clue, I still feel like a kid (yeh overage one), can't see myself getting married now. She thought that I was just being shy, and told me that my mom actually said that I have alot of boyfriends?! What the?! Yes mommy, I have alot of GUY FRIENDS not boy friends. Your daughter is not a SLUT! She doesn't go out with just about any guys!

I mean whats wrong with everybody?! There fufu and Joe were like; aie been a long time u broke up with bear bear. You need to get yourself a boy friend. It seems like my friends can't wait for me to get hitched either. And my family can't wait for me to throw a big dinner party (wedding dinner). What's wrong with being single? I like my freedom... I can't just go out to the streets and hold up a sign - Hey I am single! Who wants to marry me?
