I get this alot in my life, people often say how others put them down making them feel like shit. While its definitely easier to shift the blame to others for making us feel like shit, how often do we really realise that we are the ones who made ourselves feel like shit and look like shit?
In my humble opinion, it is the most basic human instinct to blame others for silly things they do themselves, the reason is simple, who would want to admit to being more foolish than they already is looking? The answer is no! (At least for 9/10 people I know!)
Things that happen in life is/are infact often a chain reaction, one action leading to another. Why do I say that? In forums, where one person starts talking about a particular subject, voicing out the views and stuff, others are also entitled to have their points stated all it takes is one mis-interpretation of meanings and it all leads to a flamming session. Same with the real world, everything we do are being watched, judged, observed by others.
One of my friends(she asked me to keep her identity secret) was complaining to me about how her cousin blamed her for the choices of skanky looking clothes which lead to a lecture given by her mother(cousin's mom). While my friend likes to be dressed in halterneck, boot tube tops and mini skirts, she did not ask her cousin to follow suit! (IMHO, my friend looks sexy while her cousin looks definitely skanky! Not saying this because she is my friend, yes my friend does show some flesh, but the combination of the whole outfit is important too!)I mean what's wrong with my friend's cousin? She told my friend that she'd feel odd if she did not show alot of flesh like my friend did. Another typical case of "I see you having this, I must have else I will look odd, but when backfires I shall shift the blame scenerio. My point here being, why didn't the cousin realise that she herself is making a fool of herself? Simple! She didn't want to take responsibility for the actions that made her look stupid that's all!
SO before we point a finger at anyone blaming them for ourselves acting like a fool, why not try to do some soul searching? That'd make this screwed up world a better place!
