Things often get swept under the carpet to be forgotten. This is an easy way out at the point of time so that the areas outside the carpet looks nice an clean. Ever thought of when dirt accumulates to a point that there's bulge on the surface of the carpet?
This does not only apply to the usual boy-girl-relationship, it also applies to any human relations (family, friends, work,etc...) I often think that talking my way through is the best solution to solve any problems, the only difficulty is that often the other party refused to talk through issues and that pisses me off so much that I often get angry, and later when I calmed down, there's no point for me to talk about the issue anymore because the other party often think that I have forgotten about it. The real issue here is that I too often think what has passed is over. Later do I realize that the only thing that has happened here is that the whole thing has been swept under the carpet. I might be like a male at times thinking that I shouldn't be using past experiences to attack the other party but then, if issues has not been resolved and then it keeps recurring it is extremely hard not to bring it up in the future.
I do agree that it is not nice to be bringing up the past mistakes that a partner has made. I too diss girls who often bring up the past to Â翻旧账Â, typical of girls to do that which often annoys the guys as much as it annoys me. So how do we avoid pit falls like this? IMO it is best to talk about issues calmly, and this can only be done if the other party is willing to talk over things to resolve issues.
Good friends and partners should be able to talk about everything and anything right? No! We do not necessiliary talk about things we do not like, because we expect the other party to be psychic to know what is going on by keeping quiet and showing an unhappy face. By the time we got over the issue it gets swept under the carpet and until the bulge appears all the dirt comes out, not only its an ugly sight but also by then it'd stain the floor under the carpet so much that it is impossible to salvage anything.
Till then there's nothing more to say but goodbye.
