I was watching Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind this morning, a story where a couple erased each other from their memory. It came clear to me that they did the procedure multiple times. And everytime the exact same mistakes happened in the relationship, one thing lead to another and they erase each other from memory and start all over again... The cycle just repeats itself.
It'd be nice if the procedure actually exist in this real world,it'd make heartache disappear. Good way to move on, it will be unfortunate if the relationship just go round in circles. It is sad how sometimes two person deeply in love cannot be together because they could not put up with each other's flaws.
Why would someone want to erase memory of the one they used to love? The answer is simple, in my opinion, the better the memory of the times together, the more heart wrenching it is when breaking up (come on, isn't it sad on the thoughts of not being able to experience the wonderful moments with the very same person?) Erasing a person from the memory completely would be good (at least to me), cuz sometimes even great happy moments can be quite taunting for a broken heart. But on the side note, it'd be good if bad memories are erased so that its possible to start everything afresh.
What I've learnt? Memories are here to stay, good or bad, it makes the complete person we are I guess. Ofcourse.. Most importantly be honest to yourself in whatever you do. I guess its about being honest and truthful, more importantly self acceptance. Oh and... Be nice to yourself before expecting others to be nice to you(and vice versa)! ;)
